A door gunner on assault helicopters in Vietnam, serving in I Corp, Brian remembered today the last ride he turned down in 1968 on his last day in country. He turned down that final mission and the copter and its crew never made it back to base. We remember today, Memorial Day, all who have given their lives so we can enjoy ours.

Many horses have come and gone over the years, but some are special. Maybe it’s the eyes, the markings or the personality. Gun Stinger is one of those horses. He came to the ranch in Arizona from Texas when he was just a yearling and leaves tomorrow for Colorado as a six year old. He will have an interesting job, riding with a non-pro western rider in competitions in the Colorado area. The lives of horses are well described in the fictional classic, “Black Beauty” wherein Beauty moves from owner to owner, some better than others, and finally returns home for his later years.
